High Pressure Jet Cleaning for Every Drain
Jet Plumb provides drain jetting Gloucestershire homeowners, landlords and businesses can book for a stubborn blockage or as routine maintenance. Our jetting equipment drives water through a flexible hose at 3,000 to 4,000 psi, enough to break up hardened fat and the tree roots that find their way into pipes.
Because jetting uses nothing but water, it is kind to the environment and safe for most pipe materials, including older ones. It does more than open up a gap: it cleans the full bore of the pipe, so water flows properly again and bad smells disappear with the debris.
How Drain Jetting Works
On most jobs we advise a CCTV camera survey first. Seeing inside the pipe tells us where the blockage is, how big it is and what it is made of, so we can pick the right nozzle and pressure and spot any damage before we begin.
The engineer then feeds a flexible high-pressure hose into the drain from a manhole, gully or rodding point. Water leaves the nozzle with enough force to break the blockage apart, while the flow carries the loosened debris downstream and out of your section of the system. For long runs, the hose can be worked from more than one access point.
We adjust the pressure to suit the pipe, so older or more fragile drains are cleaned without being harmed. Once the line is clear we run water through to check the flow. Where it is useful, a second camera pass confirms the pipe is clean and shows whether any repair work is needed. If anything looks wrong, you see the footage too.
- Fat, oil and grease deposits from kitchen drains
- Wet wipes, nappies and sanitary products
- Silt, sand and stones washed into yard gullies
- Soap scum and hair in bathroom waste pipes
- Tree roots growing through pipe joints
- Scale and general debris that narrows the pipe
When to Book High Pressure Drain Cleaning
Jetting is the answer to more than a total blockage. It is worth booking if your drains show any of these signs. Catching a build-up early is easier than dealing with a flood.
- Water draining away more slowly than it used to
- Blockages that come back weeks after being rodded
- Persistent smells from sinks, gullies or manholes
- Grease build-up in a restaurant or hotel kitchen drain
- Leaves and silt filling outside gullies after heavy rain
- Roots spotted in the pipe during a camera survey
- A drain that needs cleaning before it can be lined or surveyed
Jetting as Planned Maintenance
Some drains block on a cycle. Commercial kitchens, busy rented properties and sites with trees close to the pipework tend to see the same problems return. Booking a regular jetting visit removes the build-up before it turns into an emergency.
We clean drainage pipework, gullies, septic tank outlets and sewers on a planned basis for homes and businesses. If jetting reveals cracks or damaged joints, we can repair them too, and contract work is welcome. Planned visits can be arranged around opening hours.
Kitchen Waste Pipes
Grease from cooking coats kitchen waste pipes and hardens as it cools. A small jetting head cleans the full length of the pipe from the sink to the outside drain, removing the fat that rods and plungers leave behind.
Gully Cleaning
Yard and car park gullies fill with leaves, silt and grit, especially after storms. We empty the pot and jet the outlet pipe, which helps stop surface water ponding on driveways, car parks and busy commercial yards.
Root Cutting
Fine roots enter through joints and spread into a mat that catches everything passing. We break them up with high-pressure water or cut them out, then recommend a camera check to see whether the entry point needs sealing.
Grease Trap Maintenance
Restaurants and hotels rely on grease traps to keep fat out of the drains. We clean traps and jet the drains downstream on a planned schedule, reducing the risk of a blockage in the middle of a busy service.
Septic Tank Outlets
A blocked outlet from a septic tank can back waste up into the house drains. We jet the outlet pipe clear of solids and build-up so the tank can discharge freely again, and check the inlet side while we are there.
Pre-Survey Cleaning
A camera cannot show cracks hidden under silt or grease. Jetting the drain before a CCTV survey or lining repair gives a clear view of the pipe wall and a clean surface for any liner to bond to.
What You Gain From Jet Cleaning
The main benefit is a genuinely clean pipe. Instead of leaving fat and debris stuck to the walls, jetting removes it, which restores full flow, gets rid of odours and makes another blockage less likely.
It is clean in a wider sense as well. No harsh chemicals go into your drains or the ground, and the work is done from existing access points, so there is no digging and very little disruption to your home or business.
Jetting also prepares the way for other work. A pipe has to be clean before a camera can give a clear picture of its condition, and before any lining repair can bond to the old pipe wall. Our engineers carry out both when they are needed.

Drain Jetting FAQs
Common questions about drain jetting in Gloucestershire.
Yes, for most pipe types, including older clay drains. Our engineers set the pressure and choose the nozzle to suit the pipe material and its condition. If a camera survey shows a pipe is badly cracked or collapsed, we will tell you before jetting and recommend a repair instead.
Rods physically push or twist through a blockage and work best on simple obstructions close to an access point. Jetting uses high-pressure water to break up the blockage and clean the whole circumference of the pipe, reaching much further along long or winding runs. We use whichever suits the job, and sometimes both.
Jetting can break up and clear root growth that has entered a drain through joints or cracks, and roots can also be cut out. Roots get in through a weak point, though, so once the pipe is clear we usually recommend a camera survey to see whether a lining or repair is needed to keep them out.
Not always. A straightforward blockage can often be jetted straight away. For recurring problems, long runs or drains with an unknown history, we normally advise a CCTV survey first so we know the location, size and type of blockage and can check the pipe is sound.
Yes. Our emergency line is answered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and we respond fast to overflowing drains, flooded gullies and sewage backing up into properties across Gloucestershire. There is no call-out charge, even at night or on a bank holiday.
Most homes only need jetting when there is a problem. Commercial kitchens, hotels, properties with trees near the drains and sites with a history of blockages benefit from regular cleaning. We can look at your drains and suggest a sensible maintenance interval based on what we find.
Jetting is a clean process. We work from manholes, gullies and other access points, and the debris is flushed down the drain and away. Our engineers take care around your property, keep hoses tidy and leave the area as they found it.
